Policies
Journal Policies
The International Journal of Applied Linguistics is committed to maintaining high standards in publishing. The following policies outline the procedures and practices that govern submissions, peer review, and publication ethics.
1. Submission Policy
Authors are encouraged to submit original, unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the field of applied linguistics. All submissions must be made through our online submission system. By submitting a manuscript, authors affirm that the work is not under consideration elsewhere and that all co-authors have agreed to the submission.
2. Peer Review Policy
The journal employs a double-blind peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. This process ensures an unbiased evaluation of the submitted work. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and are expected to provide constructive feedback within the specified timeframe.
3. Publication Ethics Policy
We uphold strict ethical standards in publishing. Authors must ensure their work is original and properly cited. Any form of misconduct, including plagiarism or data fabrication, will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript and possible reporting to relevant institutions.
4. Open Access Policy
The International Journal of Applied Linguistics operates under an open access model, allowing readers to access articles free of charge. This model promotes the dissemination of research and fosters a wider reach of scholarly work.
5. Copyright Policy
Upon acceptance of a manuscript, authors grant the journal the right to publish the work under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY). Authors retain the right to share and distribute their work, provided they acknowledge the journal as the original publisher.
6. Data Sharing Policy
Authors are encouraged to share their data and materials related to their research. Supporting data should be made available upon reasonable request to enhance transparency and reproducibility in research.
7. Retraction and Correction Policy
The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity of the published literature. Retractions will be considered for manuscripts that contain significant errors or ethical violations. Corrections will be published for minor errors that do not affect the overall conclusions of the research.
8. Conflict of Interest Policy
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their work. Transparency regarding conflicts helps maintain trust in the publication process.
9. Appeal Policy
Authors who wish to appeal a decision made regarding their manuscript may submit a formal request to the editorial board, outlining the reasons for the appeal. The editorial team will review the appeal and provide a response in a timely manner.
